Small groups are a vital part of life at CUCC because spiritual community doesn’t just happen on Sunday! By participating in groups based on a common interest, concern or experience, we form closer bonds with each other and listen for the movement of the Holy in our lives. Take a look at our dynamic small groups and see which groups interest you – then join us! We love welcoming new people! Sign up here to receive our weekly email event notices.

Bible Study

During Covid, our weekly adult Bible Study with Pastor Adam has moved online via Zoom and meets every Tuesday at 3:30 pm.

Check-in & Prayer Group

Our weekly Check-in and Prayer Group with Pastor Adam has moved online via Zoom and meets every Thursday at 4 pm.

Art & Spirit Circle

During Covid, Art & Spirit Circle is not meeting in person. During normal times, once a month the Art & Spirit Circle comes together to work on ways we can nurture creativity in our lives. We spend time discussing how creativity is spiritual, and then do hands-on art projects.

Book Club

During Covid, our book club is on hiatus. During normal times, our lively Book Club meets on the third Monday of each month from 10:15 to 11:45 am. We read a wide variety of book genres and join together for discussions, or we have general talks about books we’ve read or are currently reading.

Choir & Special Music

During Covid, our choir is not meeting in person, however, a few of our choir members are providing special music during our online services. Our church is fortunate to have a talented and dedicated choir director and organist — Jean Herrera. Jean grew up in our congregation, and generously shares her musical gifts with the church. She encourages folks to join the choir and share their musical gifts by providing special music. During non-Covid times, the choir practices on Wednesday evenings. Instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages are encouraged to participate in our worship services.

Council Membership & Committee Involvement

An excellent way to be involved at Clackamas UCC is to take on a leadership role. Committees seek out individuals with skills and talents needed. These are diverse and require varied amounts of time. Committees chose a representative or chairperson to serve on the Church Council. The Council also includes a moderator, vice moderator, treasurer, secretary, clerk, and financial secretary. All are elected at a congregational meeting.

Mission & Outreach Projects

Another way to be part of our church’s life is to get involved with the various mission and outreach projects. These are all-church, intergenerational endeavors. From collecting food for the hungry to advocating for homeless youth, all projects are worthy of time and energy.

Women’s Circle

During Covid, Women’s Circle is not meeting in person. During normal times, Women’s Circle meets Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Women’s Circle (originally Ladies’ Aid) has been meeting at our church since 1895. They come together to have lunch, share their lives, and create crafts for the Holiday Bazaar. Women of all ages are invited to attend.

Young at Hearts

During Covid, the Young at Hearts group is not meeting in person. During normal times, the Young at Hearts (where you believe and act younger than your age) gather for luncheons and provide an opportunity for anyone who is aging (all of us😊) to gather in fellowship over lunch at a variety of local restaurants. No one is turned away because you are not “old” enough! If you like to gather for good conversation over a good meal come and join us. We meet at various times throughout the year. Please check our events calendar or newsletter for upcoming dates.
