Small groups are a vital part of life at CUCC because spiritual community doesn’t just happen on Sunday! By participating in groups based on a common interest, concern or experience, we form closer bonds with each other and listen for the movement of the Holy in our lives. Take a look at our dynamic small groups and see which groups interest you – then join us! We love welcoming new people! Sign up here to receive our weekly email event notices.
Faith Conversations
Every Monday at 4 pm we meet with Pastor Adam via Zoom to watch a brief video about various aspects of life, religion, challenges, love, social justice issues, and more. Following the video we have a discussion about the issues brought from each video.
Bible Study
Our weekly adult Bible Study with Pastor Adam meets every Tuesday in Pastor Adam’s office at 12 pm and online via Zoom at 3:30 pm.
Check-in & Prayer Group
Our weekly Check-in and Prayer Group with Pastor Adam meets via Zoom every Thursday at 4 pm.
Art & Spirit Circle
Art & Spirit Circle meets the third Monday of each month when we come together to work on ways we can nurture creativity in our lives. We spend time discussing how creativity is spiritual, and then do hands-on art projects.
Book Club
Our lively Book Club meets on the third Thursday of each month from 10:30 to 12 pm. We read a wide variety of book genres and join together for discussions, or we have general talks about books we’ve read or are currently reading.
Choir & Special Music
Choir meets every Wednesday from 2:50 pm to 4 pm. Our church is fortunate to have a talented and dedicated choir director and organist — Jean Herrera. Jean grew up in our congregation, and generously shares her musical gifts with the church. We encourage folks to join the choir and share their musical gifts by providing special music during the summer months when choir is on break. Instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages are encouraged to participate in our worship services.
Council Membership & Committee Involvement
An excellent way to be involved at Clackamas UCC is to take on a leadership role. Committees seek out individuals with skills and talents needed. These are diverse and require varied amounts of time. Committees chose a representative or chairperson to serve on the Church Council. The Council also includes a moderator, vice moderator, treasurer, secretary, clerk, and financial secretary. All are elected at a congregational meeting.
Mission & Outreach Projects
Another way to be part of our church’s life is to get involved with the various mission and outreach projects. These are all-church, intergenerational endeavors. From collecting food for the hungry to advocating for homeless youth, all projects are worthy of time and energy.
Ladies Sewing Circle
Ladies Sewing Circle meets Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m (bring a sack lunch). Ladies Sewing Circle (originally Ladies’ Aid) has been meeting at our church since 1895. They come together to have lunch, share their lives, and create crafts for the Holiday Bazaar. Women of all ages are invited to attend.
