Recognizing God

Today we discuss the story of the Jesus resurrected – Jesus on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35). The disciples say they had hoped Jesus would be the one to save them, but after the religious and political powers killed him, their hope was gone.

Despair. Grief. Sadness.
We had hoped.
Do you feel that?
We had hoped.

Whether because of personal, national, or global events, many of us know how these disciples feel. And that’s okay. Jesus meets us in our despair, grief, and sadness. We are not alone. Jesus is with us on the journey. And we are on the journey together.
